Some time ago, I heard an interview of Jeremy Reed on the wonderful bsdtalk podcast.
Jeremy said that he was managing a community written BSD book. The idea behind it was that we would let the community author most of the book and then publish it under the BSD license for anyone to use. The project has a deadline and it may be used as the official study guide for the upcoming (hopefully!) BSD certification.
